CUT-DOWN MUSKET. Cal. 58. NSN. Barrel cut down to 29" and front sight reattached for new configuration, stock stapled during its time of use. Musket was surplus Civil War that made its way to Mexico. Lock is stamped with "liberty cap / R M". CONDITION: very good overall as configured, dark uncleaned patina, ramrod is proper length and threaded. Action functions, dirty rifled bore. PROVENANCE: estate collection of Compton LaBauve, Jr. (01-28934/JS). ANTIQUE. $500-700.
